A bit about me…

Hello!

My name is Geneva, and I am a writer, editor, farmer, educator and song leader currently working towards my MFA in Poetry at the Institute for American Indian Arts. My writing has appeared or is forthcoming in Camas, Southern Humanities Review, humana obscura, Canary Literary Magazine, We’Moon Datebooks, among others. I also work as a communications steward and an apprentice in actualizing equity and justice with Fierce Allies. I feel humbled to live in the juniper and piñon pine foothills of the La Platas, homelands of the Ute, Diné and Puebloan peoples.

My philosophy on writing is rooted in awe and humility—to the power of creativity & the magic of this world. I believe these times need our writing, art, songs and all other inspirations to move us through, within, and deeper into our joy, grief, love, rage, and authenticity. May our muses mold us into alive & awake humans capable of living in right relationship with ourselves, our loves, and our homes.

In bow to beauty,

Geneva
